Inside Influences

The main determinant of your HAPPINESS PREPONDERANCE from the standpoint of inside influences is your mindset. Are you negative or positive in your everyday views? Positive people are much happier than negative people. Brilliant observation there by HAPPINESS-Man, eh? As simplistic as the statement seems, why doesn’t everyone get a positive mental attitude? Because either they don’t know how, they don’t know that they can, or they just don’t want to because they are who they are and by God that’s the way it is.

Anyone, no matter how bitter and jaded, can control thier inside influences through a positive attitude. You have already chosen the status of your attitude, either consciously or by default. If it isn’t positive enough right now to make you a happy human, you can choose to change it. No, you don’t have to get a whole new head like Frankie, you just need to change the way you perceive things.

Most of you humans react to outside influences, with no pervading inside influences to mitigate negativity. Without those inside influences, you simply drone through life on autopilot, trying to maintain the mundane comfort of the status quo. When unexpected changes to the status quo arise, you humans concentrate your thought and energy in getting things back to the way they were, and you won’t be happy until they are.

The problem with that modus operandi is that maybe you weren’t all that happy in the first place, and now you have to work harder just to have things as good as they were before the change came about. If you are like this, you are allowing outside influences to run your HAPPINESS PREPONDERANCE. Why the heck would you allow circumstances beyond your control to decide how happy you are when you can make the decision yourself? Exactly.

By simply choosing to be happy, using inside influences all the time, regardless of outside influences, you can overcome all negative events to maintain the high level of HAPPINESS that you choose. Sure, there will be life events that will test your chosen level of HAPPINESS, probably the worst being the loss of a loved one, and mourning such a loss is natural and healthy. But at some point, you pick yourself up and go on living, just as the person you lost would have wanted. No amount of misery or sorrow or guilt will bring them back, and yes, you can be happy after such a loss. Writer-Boy’s been there—and you can and will recover. It may take more time for some than others, but HAPPINESS is possible after any loss.

Part of the wonder of you humans is your amazing ability to roll with changes and bounce back from any adversity, often times turning adversity into opportunity. Knowing ahead of time how you will react to things that happen in your life will better prepare you for any eventuality.

You humans cannot see into the future, which means that by definition, your futures are uncertain, and therefore unknown. You can anticipate the unknown with excitement or cower before it in fear. Which one do you think a positive person would choose? Which one have you chosen up until now? Which will you choose from now on? Have you noticed that the way you view yourself, your world, your circumstances is a choice made by you, whether consciously or not? Now that you know you can, do. Choose wisely, Grasshopper.
